McKinley's 6 month maternity session

6 months down, and 3 to go!  McKinley will be shooting another session with us in a few months. We are blessed to be able to have shot this mini-session with her. We did all this in about 10 minutes of actual shoot time. She's also a wonderful person!

This was officially THE coldest photo shoot I have ever done. I don't know the temp, but it was ...... c-o-l-d.  It was quite windy also, which made things very skin-chilling. It's hard to tell by looking at the photos though, but it was freezing!  We are now in the middle of a super-duper cold snap in the nation.

So enjoy the photos, and some very blue eyes!  I mentioned the other day that I would be blogging more this year. Here we go...blog #2 of the year, and we are still in the first week.  To see more of my work, visit my website by clicking  HERE.

Zach + Tiffany engaged

OK, I have seriously been MIA on my blog this year!  Some self discipline is in order.  ((smack))

This post is a showcase of a wonderful couple who lives near to me. Meet Zach and Tiffany!  We did some serious backwoods trail blazing to get to the location you see here. We had a great adventure of a time doing this, and we were thrilled with the results.

Kevin + Kim married

Finally I am back in blogland! This is a quick blog to show off a little bit of Kevin and Kim's wedding in Lawrenceburg, TN. This wedding was very unique, as you can see in the photos. The ceremony took place at the historic Crockette Theatre. Yes it's an old classic movie theatre. What great time we had, and I will never forget this one for sure. Thanks Kevin and Kim for the opportunity to photograph your amazing wedding. My website can be seen HERE.

Geoff + Jennifer island wedding (teaser blog)

Just a quick few teaser photos from our recent destination wedding to Turks and Caicos Islands. The islands are out past the Bahamas, near Cuba, if you aren't familiar. Click on any image to enlarge it. This was one exciting, beautiful wedding! Geoff and Jennifer picked a perfect location, and the perfect timing. Hurricane Sandy came calling right as we were leaving the island airport! Whew. I don't think they got too much damage at all though on the islands. This is just a short blog, as I have quite a large workload right now. I will feature more photos from this wedding in several weeks. Keep an eye out. View our main website and galleries HERE. Niki + John at Top O' Woodlands

Another beautiful Saturday wedding. Some light clouds in the sky (which us photographers love), and a gorgeous wedding venue (Top o' Woodlands), and two very kind people who are in love. Add in their close friends and family, and we had one beautiful, stylish, classy wedding. Thanks John and Niki for the pleasure of photographing your wedding! Thanks to Aaron for helping. Aaron is my longest tenured second shooter, and he got some great ones again. I especially love the shot of the flower girl on her tip-toes, trying to see when is her time to walk the aisle. Dylan + Andrea engaged

Dylan and Andrea are going to be married next week, and I'm only now getting their engagement photos blogged! To say I've been busy is to not say it strong enough. This is the busiest time of year for me, as usual. There are lots of photo shoots I don't even get around to blogging at all, but I try to get most.

I met Dylan and Andrea when I was shooting the wedding of Andrea's sister Amanda. Also, as seen in my previous blog, the wedding of Ken and Joy. Joy is the aunt! What a fun family.
Andrea and Dylan, I will see you soon in Bowling Green, KY. on your wedding day. Let's capture some memories.

Vince + Emily engaged. Clarksville

Yes, I'm a big fan of balloons in photographs. Vince and Emily like them too. We spent a few hours in Clarksville, at two different locations. One location was at Riverwalk, a popular spot for the area.

Sometimes I blog a lot of photos, and sometimes just a few. Balloons are usually a great way to get me to blog a LOT. The color palette, the moving action, the wide open spaces I use for backdrops all makes for a grand collection of photos to share.

One thing I like the most about an engagement shoot, is getting to know the couple more than I had in the past. Likewise, they get much more familiar with me, and on the upcoming wedding day, we are like old friends. Each couple has their own dynamics, both with me, and with themselves as a couple, and that is part of my job that I appreciate so much. Speaking of upcoming weddings, theirs is coming up on November 12th. I'll be there.

"Day after" shoot--with balloons.

Sometimes a bride and groom choose to have more photos made--after the wedding day. We call that a "day after" shoot. Sometimes, it takes place weeks, or months after the actual wedding. In this case, Bobby and Brittany were married back on Jan 1st. (see my January post).  We have now done our day after shoot, and it was a huge success!

Balloons make GREAT photo props, and I will be doing even more of this in the near future. For this day though, we were shooting in Castalian Springs at a beautiful location known as the Cragfont historic home, with surrounding fields and gardens. What a great place. They also host weddings there.

As is usually the case, the weather was great for the shoot, and we had fun shooting. Bobby and Brittany have become good friends of mine, and we also enjoyed some great Mexican food after the shoot!
