Brandon + Jenny married in KY.
Brandon and Jenny, married in Bowling Green, KY., on Oct 8th, 2011. Not only was it a special day for the Marine and his new bride, and but next day was pretty fun too. We met up for one of my favorite things, a "day after" photo shoot. Back on with the wedding attire, and out for some great photo shooting adventures. They had access to a family saloon, as seen below, and also a cattle range, and a bridge, and some various country roads.
The wedding itself took place at a beautiful country church in Bowling Green. There were two young, friendly cats who followed us around outside the church all day as we shot various photos. At one point, while my attention was elsewhere, they commandeered my backpack style camera bag! (as seen below). Brandon and Jenny were a blast to work with, and I would love to keep them both as long term friends if they only lived closer. Good people!
I know this blog post is very photo heavy, but after two days of shooting, what else can I do?

Brittney rocks the dress in Paris
Welcome back to my camera, Brittney. Back in June of 2010, I shot the wedding of Brittney and Tommy (as seen in a past blog post) We had been in contact since then about some day doing a bridal photo shoot, in Paris, TN where she was married. They even have a mini Eiffel tower. So just recently, I made the trip to Paris, and we spent a couple hours shooting one of my "rock the dress" photo shoots. I love it!
We knew we would be visiting the mini Eiffel tower for a few shots, but the rest of the time was spent doing what I love to to, which is "drive and shoot". We ride around town looking for locations to shoot at. The always sparks creativity on the spot. We spotted some train cars with pink graffiti on them, and we use that, as well as the inside of one of the cars. (as seen below, with the streak of light coming diagonally through the side doors and hitting the other side. We also shot in the town square, and at a couple other spots. Of course, moving very quickly, as time is a huge factor. Late afternoon when the sun is low. That is the optimal time to shoot.
I also brought along a videographer to capture behind the scenes footage of the shoot, and that video is close to being done. I will post a link to see it, once it's ready. Thanks also to Tommy, Brittney's husband for being my assistant for the day, and holding lights and reflectors as needed.
Thanks for the great shoot, Brittney. You rock.

Dylan + Andrea engaged
Dylan and Andrea are going to be married next week, and I'm only now getting their engagement photos blogged! To say I've been busy is to not say it strong enough. This is the busiest time of year for me, as usual. There are lots of photo shoots I don't even get around to blogging at all, but I try to get most.
I met Dylan and Andrea when I was shooting the wedding of Andrea's sister Amanda. Also, as seen in my previous blog, the wedding of Ken and Joy. Joy is the aunt! What a fun family.
Andrea and Dylan, I will see you soon in Bowling Green, KY. on your wedding day. Let's capture some memories.

Ken +Joy's wedding by the lake.
Ken and Joy were married October 1st, and the weather was very cooperative for an outdoor wedding by the lake. The ceremony took place under a huge gazebo. I came to know Ken and Joy when I shot the wedding of Joy's nice, Amanda, earlier in the year in June. Soon, in November, I will be shooting the wedding of Amanda's sister Andrea. I know the family fairly well by now, and I feel like a family friend.
This time of year is always my busiest, and I'm usually lucky to get any time for blogging in the autumn months. I'll hopefully be back on track with more blogs ASAP. For now, enjoy the new photos!

Vince + Emily engaged. Clarksville
Yes, I'm a big fan of balloons in photographs. Vince and Emily like them too. We spent a few hours in Clarksville, at two different locations. One location was at Riverwalk, a popular spot for the area.
Sometimes I blog a lot of photos, and sometimes just a few. Balloons are usually a great way to get me to blog a LOT. The color palette, the moving action, the wide open spaces I use for backdrops all makes for a grand collection of photos to share.
One thing I like the most about an engagement shoot, is getting to know the couple more than I had in the past. Likewise, they get much more familiar with me, and on the upcoming wedding day, we are like old friends. Each couple has their own dynamics, both with me, and with themselves as a couple, and that is part of my job that I appreciate so much. Speaking of upcoming weddings, theirs is coming up on November 12th. I'll be there.
