Portraits of Eli
Eli is only a tad over 2 years old, yet was one of my easiest subjects ever to photograph! Amazing what can come of a 2 year old, some hay, and a dirt clod.
Eli was helping his dad Daniel to re-seed a lawn, and spread the essential hay over the newly spread seed. I saw this as a perfect time to grab a few candid photos of this little cutie. Daniel and I had been recently talking about such a shoot anyway, so I simply asked Daniel, and he said go for it.
Lucky for me, Eli wasn't quite familiar with a "big camera", so I kept my distance mostly, using my long telephoto lens. Once spotted though, Eli came to investigate to see what this big contraption was that I was holding up to my eye. This curiosity was captured in the closeup photo you see here below. Quickly though, he went back to his business of partially spreading hay, and partially being a 2 year old!
I will soon be adding more family and child photography to my portfolio, so help spread the word. Wedding photography will of course remain my focus, but how can I pass up this type of fun you see here?

Ryan + Nan: Chinese theme wedding
The colors and design of this wedding speak for themselves. It was a perfect fusion of Chinese and American tradition! Beautiful reds, golds, white, and all the floral varieties to top it off.
The weather was all over the place this day. Cloudy, stormy, clear. At one point, about 45 minutes before the ceremony, the church lost all power, and we were left in pure darkness, but only for about a minute. All was restored, and we resumed. Nothing like a little extra excitement to build the tension.
Nan and Ryan had a beautiful ceremony. I wish them well in their new life together! It's been an honor to know them both. I have a feeling there will be relatives in China who will have interest in this week's blog. More Nashville wedding photography here.
Another great use for engagement photos, below!

Nate + Tasha: Outdoor wedding
Nathan and Tasha were married yesterday at a beautiful outdoor location in Joelton, TN. Rawlings Country Club was the venue, and it includes lots of green grass, a creek, trees, reception hall, and on this day, perfect weather! It was just a week ago exactly when the now infamous Nashville flood of 2010 hit us. We got lucky!
I had a great time shooting Nate and Tasha's engagement photos a few months ago, and it was just as fun to be spending their big wedding day with them. My 2nd shooter/assistant for this wedding was Shellene Kent, and she really nailed some great shots.(Photos #1, 9, & 12 in this blog entry are hers)
Enjoy the photos everyone! I know I enjoyed making them. If you like what you see, help spread the word!
